2017 Cashmere and Innovative Scholarship Award Winners

The Association for Jewish Studies Women’s Caucus is delighted to announce the winners of two important awards.

The Cashmere Subvention Grant in Jewish Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies has been awarded to  Mara H. Benjamin for her upcoming volume “The Obligated Self: Maternal Subjectivity and Jewish Thought” (Indiana University Press).

This year’s prize for Innovative Scholarship in Gender and Jewish Studies has been awarded to Cara Rock-Singer, “The American Jewish Body and Its Discontents.”

We look forward to congratulating this year’s winners during the annual Women’s Caucus breakfast on Monday, December 19, in San Diego. Please join us!

2016 Cashmere and Innovative Scholarship Award Winners

The Association for Jewish Studies Women’s Caucus is delighted to announce the winners of two important awards.

The Cashmere Subvention Grant in Jewish Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies has been awarded to Natalia Aleksiun and Elissa Bemporad for their forthcoming volume, Gender and Jewish Women in Central and Eastern Europe.

An honorable mention for this award goes to Professor Shira Kohn, for her Pledging Allegiance: Jewish Sororities and Civil Rights in Postwar America.

This year’s prize for Innovative Scholarship in Gender and Jewish Studies has been awarded to Sarit Kattan Gribetz, for “The Mothers in the Manuscripts: Gender, Motherhood, and Power in the Toledot Yeshu Narratives.”
